Our culinary adventure started back in 2005. While looking for a suitable location for our restaurant, we ended up in Onderbergen in Ghent. Here, an old mansion (anno 1870) that needed some renovation, was for sale. After 3,5 years of renovation, we could finally open the restaurant! We are now 14 years later and are able to look back on a beautiful time, mainly thanks to our loyal clients and staff. Welcome to our website and hopefully we can welcome you in our restaurant as well soon!

Our Menu

We have a seasonal kitchen where we work around the pure taste of every product. All of this, of course, seen through the eyes of our chef and his team. Our priorities are freshness and quality. Every meal served by our chef, Vincent De Leenheer, is a speciality in which a lot of care was put during the preparation, dress up, and serving.

Our wine cellar

House wine

The house wine varies and is regularly changed. At the moment, we are working with the house Peneau in Bordeaux, which is presented by madame Douance. The wines are always pleasant ones matching the various dishes, while also being accessible to a wider audience.

French wines

All regions in France are covered in our restaurant, both the Bourgogne and Bordeaux as well as Elzas, Loire and Côte du Rhône.

World wines

We offer a diverse palette of world wines ranging over the different continents and presented by various sorts of grapes.

Exclusive wines

Throughout the years, our chef has developed a passion for wines causing him to start collecting them. During these last 15 years, he has been able to get his hands on a few renowned bottles like a Mouton Rothschild, Chateau Figeac, Clos de la Roche and Gevrey Chambertin.

Our Chef

Our chef and owner, Vincent De Leenheer, got a taste for cooking at a young age. Later, he followed various courses as caterer, butcher and restaurateur, leading him to gain concrete experience with culinary icons in high quality restaurants like De Lijsterbest, De Pastorale and het Hof Van Cleve. His vision is focussed on serving his customers pure products, both in the traditional and modern kitchen. This is why he prepares everything himself, ranging from bread to biscuits and ice cream. The eye and flavours come first. Gastronomy is a concept that includes flavor, interior and atmosphere.

THE RESTAURANT

The restaurant is located in the heart of Ghent, in an old mansion anno 1870. The renovation of the property took about 3,5 years. The interior reflects the origin of the building. 

The business consists of four distinct spaces. In the black room, you’ll find walls that are painted mainly black with keys of gold. The large chandelier out of bronze d’oré and crystal produce a stately impression. De moyen age room is a smaller, yet atmospheric space. The fireplace and colour promote the unique romantic character in this place. Both rooms can be used for group activities. The black room has a capacity of 35 people, while the smaller one can fit 25 people.

The five-meter long bar, which is equipped with every working comfort, is a work of art in itself. The cozy lounge and equally comfortable sofa offer customers plenty of privacy and luxury to eat extensively. Especially on Friday and Saturday evening, our bar is transformed into a cozy restaurant. When the weather is right, you can enjoy the rustic outdoor terrace, divided into various parts with boxwoods and a small pond. It is the ideal place to eat on a balmy summer evening.
